The Dubai Metro and tram provide free laptops to students who regularly use them

Students who commute by metro and tram are being given free laptop computers by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Schools and universities are able to reach their students through these services.

An initiative launching last week coincided with the start of the academic year.

Rowdah Al Mehrizi, director of Marketing and Corporate Communication, Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, RTA said, “This initiative is part of the RTA’s commitment to encouraging students and youths to take mass transit in their daily commutes across the city,” she said.

RTA offers students and residents a 50 percent discount on blue Nol cards. The card is free of charge for Emirati seniors, residents, and people of determination.
