The UAE will have two additional long weekends this year

For the rest of 2021, UAE residents will enjoy two more long weekends.

Residents of UAE enjoyed a five-day break from May 11-15 on the eve of Eid Al Fitr, marking the first of this year’s long weekends. During Eid Al Adha in July, residents had a six-day break from the 19th of July (the Day of Arafah) until the 24th of July, during which residents celebrated a six-day weekend. Residents were on their longest break of the year.

As the Islamic New Year approached, residents enjoyed a three-day long holiday. On August 12, following a two-day weekend, an official holiday was declared for the beginning of the Hijri year.

The birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is likely to be marked by another three-day weekend between Thursday, October 21, and Saturday, October 23. In honor of Commemoration Day and UAE National Day, the last break will last for 4 days from Wednesday, December 1 to Saturday, December 4.

By increasing the number of people vaccinated against Covid-19 in the UAE and throughout the world, many countries are now opening their borders and welcoming vaccinated nationals from other countries.
