Sadly, the oldest guardian of Masjid an-Nabawi has passed away

Guardian of Masjid an-Nabawi passed away-Among the oldest guardians looking after the chamber of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Agha Habeeb Muhammad Al-Afari, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Saudi authorities confirmed.

Al-Afari had been ill for quite some time, according to Saudi authorities.

Afari was named by Allah for serving the chamber of our Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), and was one of the oldest guards of Masjid an-Nabawi. “He passed away on Wednesday,” the Holy Mosques said on Twitter.

Over 40 years have passed since Al-Afari guarded the chamber.
Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah performed the funeral prayer after Maghrib.

Rawdah Mubarak or the sacred chamber is also known as the chamber of Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Umar (RA) and Abu Bakar (RA) are buried in the chamber with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Right below the Green Dome of Masjid an-Nabawi is the chamber.

In addition to Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah, this mosque is the world’s second largest mosque.
