Abu Dhabi announces free parking and no toll fees for Hijri New Year

During the Hijri New Year (1444H) holiday, the Integrated Transport Centre, Abu Dhabi (ITC) will not collect parking fees and tolls. Customer Happiness Center operating hours, Darb timings, and bus and ferry schedules were also announced. During the holiday, centers will be closed and reopen on Monday, August 1.

Beginning July 30 and ending 7:59am on August 1, surface parking will be free during the holiday. During the official holiday, parking lot M18 in Mussafah Industrial Area will be free.

Traffic flow should not be obstructed by vehicles parked in prohibited areas or by parked vehicles blocking the road. As part of the regulations regarding resident permit parking bays, the ITC advised the public to adhere to them from 9:00pm to 8:00am.

Buses will operate as usual along the routes that are expected to be in greater demand. Additional trips will be added along routes that are expected to be in greater demand.

To mark the occasion, all public and private sector employees in the UAE will receive a paid holiday on July 30.The Islamic new year (1444H) begins on Muharram 1.

According to astronomical calculations, it will fall on Saturday, July 30, on the Gregorian calendar. A crescent moon sighting will determine the actual date.
