India vs Pakistan-Since the BCCI President confirmed that the Asia Cup will be held in the UAE, cricket fans in the country are eagerly anticipating the India-Pakistan match.
Despite media reports suggesting an August 28 match between India and Pakistan, the schedule has not yet been released. The tournament will take place from August 27 to September 11.
A number of world-class tournaments have been hosted in the UAE, including the ICC T20 World Cup last year in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Pakistan had beaten India by 10 wickets in a group match they played against each other. Being the 200th international match between the two countries, it was a landmark match. It was a momentous occasion for Pakistan fans as it was their first win over India in a World Cup match in either the 50-over or T20 format in 13 attempts.
India and Pakistan are not meeting for the first time in the UAE. UAE has hosted the tournament three times and India has won all three times.
India vs Pakistan-The inaugural edition of the tournament was won by India in 1984, while Sri Lanka finished runner-up. Sri Lanka were defeated by India by eight wickets in 1995. The record seventh title was won by India in 2018 after beating Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
India defeated Pakistan by eight wickets in the group stage and nine wickets in the Super Four of the 2018 tournament.
This edition will follow the abridged format in honor of this year’s T20 World Cup.
